The Supremacy is the largest and most powerful nation on the continent of Morwen — a vast, disciplined empire built upon the teachings of the Oracle. These divine visions, recorded millennia ago, guide the will of the state. To its people, the Supremacy is not merely a nation but destiny itself: a civilization chosen to bring order and illumination to the chaos beyond its borders. Its banners of scarlet and gold fly from every fortress, symbolizing sacrifice and purity in service to divine law.

Ruled by the Children of the Oracle, a theocratic council claiming descent from the first Oracle’s line, the Supremacy unites religion, bureaucracy, and military might beneath a single creed. To defy the Oracle is to defy the divine — and to defy the divine is treason.

History

The Supremacy was founded nearly a millennium ago, when the first Oracle of Vaelion rose from among the desert tribes of central Morwen. Claiming visions from the Voice Beyond the Veil, the Oracle united the warring city-states through prophecy and revelation, declaring that “the world must be tempered in truth, as darkness yields to dawn.”

Over centuries, this doctrine evolved into the Doctrine of Ascendant Law, in which divine order and human will are one. Through conquest and conversion, the Supremacy expanded its reach until only the most unyielding lands resisted.

Despite its reach, rebellion simmers in the south and east. The secession of Vardessa marked the first great fracture in living memory — a wound the Supremacy swears to heal, no matter the cost.

Geography

The Supremacy spans the heartlands of Morwen — a realm of arid plains, fertile valleys, and windswept highlands. The Stormbarrier Range defines its eastern border with Drenvold, while to the north lie the icy plains of Njorath.

In the south, the terrain descends into the cracked badlands near Dun’Rhael and the sun-bleached fields that brush against Vardessa and the Ashen Marches. The capital, Vaelion, sits at the continent’s center — an architectural marvel of white stone and scarlet domes, encircled by the Circle Roads, a perfectly measured web of highways radiating like spokes from the heart of empire.

Economy

The Supremacy’s economy is vast, centralized, and meticulously regulated. Agricultural output from its river valleys sustains the population, while tithes and trade from vassal provinces enrich the capital.

The Guild of Measures oversees production, architecture, and trade with an obsession for symmetry and efficiency. Naval fleets at Caedros and Tharnis maintain control of the seas, while caravans move ceaselessly along the Ascendant Roads, bringing salt from Dun’Rhael, metals from Drenvold, and grain from Vardessa.

All trade is bound by divine decree — falsifying records, hoarding goods, or conducting unauthorized exchange is considered heresy against the Law.

Demographics

The Supremacy is a multiracial empire, though humans form the majority (about 70%). Thaldrim engineers and shipwrights are prized for their precision, Solari scholars serve as interpreters and emissaries, and Emberborn mercenaries find employment along the frontiers.

A rigid hierarchy governs every aspect of life: citizens of pure Supremacy descent hold the highest positions, while nonhumans are relegated to guild service or conscription. All are declared “Children of Light,” though in practice, the glow of equality fades beneath the weight of prejudice.

Culture

The Supremacy’s culture is built upon piety, discipline, and unwavering devotion to order. Every citizen’s day follows the rhythm of the Hours of Light — a cycle of prayer, labor, and reflection dictated by the sacred texts of the Oracle.

Art and architecture embody perfection and symmetry: cathedrals of gleaming stone rise beside vast marble citadels, each built according to the Sacred Ratios believed to mirror the divine pattern of creation. Music follows mathematical precision — harmonies designed to echo the balance of the heavens.

The Children of the Oracle, who rule from Vaelion, act as both priests and administrators, while the Wardens of the Law enforce divine doctrine across the provinces. Heresy, rebellion, and corruption are purged in equal measure — not with flame, but with absolute judgment.

To the faithful, obedience is peace. To outsiders, it is tyranny gilded in sanctity.
