Drasshka

- Attributes: +1 Intelligence, -1 Constitution
- Resistance: Drought
- Weakness: Moisture
The Drasshka are a proud and ancient race of scaled folk who thrive in the steaming jungles south of the Solari lands and east of the Emberborn territories. To outsiders, their homeland appears wild and untamed, but to the Drasshka, every vine, root, and stream has purpose. They live not apart from the jungle but within it — their vast, living cities grown from stone, wood, and root, pulsing in harmony with the rhythm of the earth.
Personality & Behavior
Patient, calculating, and deeply spiritual, the Drasshka value silence over speech and observation over haste. Their emotions are subtle but powerful — a slow, steady burn rather than a flash of fire. They believe every action must serve the balance of life and decay, a philosophy that shapes both their diplomacy and their warfare. Outsiders often mistake their stillness for apathy — a dangerous misjudgment.
Appearance
Drasshka scales range from mossy green to deep cobalt, patterned with natural markings that serve as camouflage among ferns and shadows. Their eyes gleam gold, copper, or amber, and their movements are precise and deliberate. Many adorn their crests or frills with woven jungle fibers, polished bone, or living vines that grow symbiotically upon them. Their clothing is minimal but ceremonial — crafted from leaves, silkweed, and shell.
Culture
The Drasshka build sprawling cities known as Rootspires, where stone towers twist with living trees, and bridges are woven from colossal vines. Each Rootspire is governed by a Scale Council — a gathering of the eldest bonded pairs, whose reptilian companions often serve as both advisors and living symbols of wisdom.
Their bonds are typically formed with reptiles and amphibians — snakes, crocodiles, giant geckos, or great jungle toads — granting powers tied to growth, regeneration, and venom. Through these bonds, they commune with the natural spirits of the jungle, which they call the Great Coil, a cyclical force of creation, consumption, and renewal.
The Drasshka rarely wage open war, but when provoked, the jungle itself rises with them — roots twist, mists thicken, and predators strike unseen. They maintain a wary watch on both the Emberborn to the west and the Solari to the north, viewing both as disruptive flames that threaten the sacred balance of their lands.
